Un programme de réhabilitation respiratoire doit s’adapter aux patients auxquels il s’adresse. Chez les personnes âgées, un entretien initial d’analyse des besoins et de la situation de vie permet de cibler les diffi cultés du patient, connaître ses attentes et élaborer un projet éducatif. L’ergothérapie est centrée sur la vie quotidienne de la personne âgée, avec un accompagnement pour l’amener à trouver des stratégies d’adaptation afi n de diminuer le coût énergétique.

A pulmonary rehabilitation program must be tailored to meet the needs of the patients for whom it is designed. A preliminary interview to analyse the subject’s needs and personal situation will help identify the patient’s diffi culties and expectations and may be used to develop a project that will be educational. Occupational therapy focuses on the daily activities of elderly subjects and consists in helping them fi nd adaptation strategies to decrease their energy expenditure.
