Résumé

Embolotherapy of the bronchial and pulmonary circulation began in the mid-1970s. As was true of many of the techniques, it arose as a development of diagnostic angiography of the pulmonary and bronchial circulation when it was realized that interventions with a catheter were possible. During the last two decades the techniques have improved and results and outcomes have been documented.

This article focuses on diagnosis, indications, and outcomes of embolotherapy and the techniques involved in both the bronchial and the pulmonary circulation.
