Histiocytofibrome malin primitif de la plèvre - 16/04/08

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is a uncommon primary sarcoma, occurring exceptionally in the thoracic site.

We report a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the pleura in a 23-year-old man. The tumour was revealed by chest pain and alteration of the general state. A complete resection of the tumour histologically diagnosed as a malignant fibrous histiocytoma, with a right upper lobectomy was performed.

No adjuvant treatment was proposed. The patient died 4 months after operation with cerebral metastasis.

Conclusion: MFH should be treated by wide surgical resection if technically feasible, the role of adjuvant treatment is not defined.

L'histiocytofibrome malin (MFH) est une tumeur sarcomateuse rare, exceptionnelle au niveau thoracique.

Nous rapportons l'observation d'un MFH primitif à point de départ pleural chez un jeune homme âgé de 23 ans révélé par des douleurs thoraciques et une altération profonde de l'état général. Une exérèse chirurgicale complète de la tumeur associée à une lobectomie supérieure droite par thoracotomie a été réalisée.

Aucun traitement complémentaire n'a été proposé. Le patient est décédé 4 mois après l'intervention de métastases cérébrales.

Conclusion : Le MFH doit être traité par une exérèse chirurgicale large lorsqu'elle est techniquement possible et la place des traitements adjuvants n'est pas bien définie.
